The Funny Things about Little Big Rei

Reistar Christopher Silaban is my lovely baby boy. Yesterday, he was exactly 4 (four) months and got his DTP vaccine. I call him Little Big Rei, because he’s a little boy in a big size. He grows fast and gets smarter each day. There is always a new funny thing about him time by time. And overall, he’s a baby who knows what he wants:



1)      Insisting to have a walking nursing.

2)      Pretending to sleep in my hands. When I put him lying on bed, his eyes were suddenly brightly opened *wink. There I should go carrying him again for lullaby.

3)      Every morning around 4AM, he wakes up and observes the room windows. When it’s still dark out there, he’s just calm and plays with himself, while momma and pappa are still sleeping. And when the light slowly comes into the room, he wakes all of us up by whimpering and moving his legs and hands, asking for an outing walk. This activity is a must! He likes the blue sky and all the trees in the housing complex.

4)      Asking for massage and bathing when the clock time sets. He just knows his schedule!

5)      Nonstop babbling and screaming, practicing his voice.

6)      Experiencing all kinds of facial expressions at a time: crying, boring, smiling and laughing. His pediatrician said babies in his age attract attention by mimicry and manipulation. Anyway, I don’t like that words, but I agree that Little Big Rei now looks for more attention than before.

7)      Asking a whole package when really sleepy: I should nurse, touch his heads, light blow his bottom and give him a hand fan. All at one time. There was a moment when I did all of them, but he still cried. And in the end, I realized that he also wanted me to sing his song!!!  I created some lullaby songs for him. He’s drifted away and falls asleep when I’m singing them.

8)      Enter his fingers deeply into his mouth. When he punches too hard and it’s painful, he screamingly cries and is angry to me. Hmm, I don’t like this new activity. Not only because it’s unhygienic. It seems that his fingers replace my nipples. I feel that he sucks momma’s milk less than before.

Dear Little Big Rei, sometimes momma just doesn’t understand you. But I learn about you from you. You are my instructor. Like you, I’m also getting smarter.  I love you nak, just the way you are!
