Crochet Pattern: Android Pad Pouch

I've got these bulky polyester yarns from Debbie Darmawan, my elder sister based in Canada, who flew far away to Jakarta for holiday last September 2011 (the month of Little Big Rei's arrival).

They are dark green, yellow, chocolate and orange. I wanted to make a crocheted bag out of them, but as usual, felt having so little time to do that. There in my cupboard, at least 3 bags are crying for my attention.with the status of PHD (project half done).

Last week, I've got a gift from my husband: an Android pad (Android Smartphone), Huawei branded, and there came the idea to make its pouch. 

Size of Android pad gadget: wide: 20 cm, length 11 cm, height: 1 cm

Elastic opening for easy pouch usage

Materials:
4 different color-yarns. Here I chose 4-ply polyester, diameter about 2 mm (pic above).
Crochet needle size 7-8.
Lasting elastic, about 25 cm.
Sewing yarns and needle

Look how old this lasting elastic. My mom's wealth. Probably bought in 1980s.

 
So here the crochet pattern.

Line 1: 24 chain
Line 2: sc in ch-22, sc in every next chain, 4 sc in the first ch
Work at the other side (round direction), sc in every stich, but 3 sc in the end-stich
Work with other-color yarn.
Line 3:  Turn back the work panel, fpdc in every stich
Line 4: Work around and move up: sc in every stich, slip stich (sl st)
Line 5: Repeat line 4
Work with other-color yarn.
Line 6 & 7: repeat line 4 and 5.

Work repeatedly until line 43. 
You can change yarn colors in every way you like.

Line 44 (making loops for lasting elastic): 5ch, slip in each stich.

The elastic is inserted in the loops of 5 ch. Tie the elastic and hide behind the 5ch series.

Tidy up by sewing together several 5ch to hide the elastic knot. 

Note: The cut of lasting elastic might loosen its elastic yarns. To make the work more neat, you might need to fold the end of the elastic, attaching it to the elastic body and then sew it. Do it with the other elastic end.

 Add some decorations if you like.

Size of pouch: wide: 22.5 cm, length: 12 cm, height: 1.5 cm
